2011 Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons are looking to improve on their 13-3 record and to avenge their loss in the playoffs to the Green Bay Packers and are looking to QB Matt Ryan to help get them there. The team decided early to try and get younger at the WR position which led to the release of Brian Finneran and the drafting of WR Julio Jones. Jones has been helped along all offseason by the now “elder statesman” receiver Roddy White. "Roddy helps me out with everything," Jones said. "If I run a route and I'm kind of covered up, he'll tell me what I can do to separate a little more."
Coach Whisenhunt is looking for his defense to solidify but they are still experimenting with defensive schemes. Look for them to try and blitz out of the 3-3-5 set again this season. "It was a little bit of an Achilles heel for us last year and we're still trying to get that ironed out," safety Thomas DeCoud said. "It's one of the things we have to work on. We've made it a point of emphasis this year."
Look for the Falcons to defend their NFC South title.
